Steve Waugh was in charge of Australia at the 1999 Cricket World Cup, but Ricky Ponting was the winning captain for Australia at the 2003 and 2007 Cricket World Cups.

The Australian cricket team has won the ICC Cricket World Cup three times in a row. They succeeded in 1999 and then won again in 2003 and 2007. In fact, since the first World Cup was held in 1975, they are the only team to have won three World Cups in a row.

From 1999 to 2007, Australia was without a doubt the best One-Day International (ODI) cricket team in the world. The Australian 50-over team was so good that they didn’t lose in the 2003 and 2007 ICC Cricket World Cups.

Steve Waugh was their leader(captain) in England in 1999, but Ricky Ponting was in charge in South Africa in 2003 and in the West Indies in 2007. Australia is the only country that has ever won five World Cups. They won the World Cup for the first time in 1987, and they won it again in 2015 in front of their home fans.

But, even though they were about to be kicked out of the tournament early,

Australia recovered under Steve Waugh and somehow made it to the finals at Lord’s.

Australia may have played their best both with the bat and the ball against Pakistan in the finals. Australia beat Pakistan by eight runs to win their third ODI World Cup.

They did this by bowling Pakistan out for a low score of 132. Shane Warne was named the man of the match

because he took four wickets in the finals with his leg spin. Warne, who is a spin wizard, tied with New Zealand’s Geoff Allott for the most wickets he took (20) at the end of the tournament.
